But unlike what a lot of people mistakenly think, making your eyes look fresh and rejuvenated doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Make sure you follow along to learn a few simple and natural tips to bring back the beauty and luster of your eyes.
Be as cool as a cucumber.
Cucumbers aren't just for salads and sandwiches. They can be also used to get rid of eye bags and puffiness under the eyes. You simply have to take a couple of thick slices of cucumber and put it on your eyes for at least half an hour.
Besides making your peepers feel refreshed, the natural compounds in cucumbers also help heal and prevent inflammations and skin issues like acne and an excess in skin oils, which can encourage the development of blackheads and whiteheads if not properly taken care of.
And you can also chow down on your cucumber slices if you feel a bit peckish afterwards. How's that for convenience?
Get the potato treatment.
Sure they may be mainstays in roasts, stews, casseroles and a whole lot of recipes, but grabbing a potato when your eyes look a bit puffy and baggy is definitely a smart idea. Start things off by chilling a thoroughly washed potato for at least half an hour or so until it feels really cool to the touch.
Next, depending on its size, halve the potato and place the slices on your eyes. You can make the slices smaller if you're using larger spud varieties. Leave them on for at least 30 minutes and you'll easily see and feel a big difference when you remove the potato slices from your eyes.
What's really interesting is the thick skin of the potato makes it a very effective natural cold compress.
Tea is a must for baggy and puffy eyes, too.
Don't throw away your used tea bags yet! While drinking tea already has numerous benefits with the lots and lots of beneficial compounds and antioxidants it can offer, using the used tea bags as a cold compress will surely help your eyes feel relaxed and cozy in no time.
Kick things off by sprinkling the used tea bags with cold water. You can also put the whole thing inside the fridge and let them chill for a while. When you think that they're cool enough, place the tea bags on your eyes and leave them on for 25 to 30 minutes.
Drink lots of water daily.
Make it a point to down at least 6 to 7 glasses of water each day (and more when the weather is hot). Besides helping you keep feeling cool and hydrated, water also maintains the skin's suppleness and elasticity, which prevents it from becoming wrinkly, puffy and baggy over time.
And when the skin experiences these problems, your eyes are also affected. So keep in mind to drink the recommended amount of water daily and you're good to go.
